GSE UK Storage Management Working Group Information

Description

The Storage Management working group is an active group that meets quarterly to discuss the latest developments in Storage Management hardware and software, be they IBM or third party vendor, and other items of interest to users of these products.

A typical meeting will consist of

    1. major developments
    2. exploitation of new features
    3. specific customisation
    4. etc., etc.

The primary audience for both groups is Storage Administrators and System Programmers.

General Objectives

  1. To encourage information exchange amongst Storage Administrators
  2. To act as a forum for announcements and information on Storage hardware and software, both IBM and third party
  3. To act as the formal requirements submittal point for IBM and other vendors.
  4. To encourage participation from third party vendors
  5. To encourage active participation by members
  6. To foster relationships with groups in related topics and from other countries
  7. To form subgroups as necessary to investigate specific areas of interest
  8. To continue the DSM subgroup meeting quarterly as long as interest remains.
