The third meeting of the Content Management User Group took place at the IBM Forum in Amsterdam on 15th & 16th March. Acting Chairman, Colin Taylor kicked off the meeting by thanking the 83 attendees for their support. The agenda for this meeting, was put together using the feedback from the previous meeting and reviewed by volunteer members.
Day 1
Introduction - Colin Taylor, IBM Liaison for GSE/IDUG.
Colin explained that this meeting was not an IBM Sales or Marketing Meeting,
but belonged to User Members at the Meeting. For those who preferred not to
speak up there was a flipchart available for questions.
John Hill IBM Consultant has been dealing with customers for some
years. John is now delivering Content Management systems within IBM and
gave an overview of IBM's global accounts payable operation which is supported
by 13 different SAP systems and is used Europe the US and Asia Pacific.

Roberto Timellini, J.P. Morgan - Switzerland
- J P Morgan are a Private Bank and have been a Content Manager user in a
number of European countries for some years now. They started the migration
process to CM V8 in 2004. Roberto outlined J P Morgan's use of Content Manager,
how they approached the planning of the migration and what actually happened.
He was clear about the issues he encountered and what lessons he had learned
from the process.

Dave Bartlett, IBM CM Consultant spent a number of
weeks in the IBM Santa Teresa Development Laboratory and co-authored the IBM
Redbook ‘Content Manager Implementation and Migration Cookbook’. Dave gave an
overview of the Red Book and some of his experience in migrating customer
systems.

Cock van der Ploeg, IBM Project Manager presented
an update of his project and his migration to V8 with lessons learned. Cock
explained how they are also using CM OnDemand and gave a demo.

Ask A Question, Panel Session - Thank you to the 5
people that sent in the total of 21 questions. Bernard Cadogan & Charles
Barnwell, IBM CM Consultant Specialists answered majority in the room, the

Day 2
Bernard Cadogan, IBM Consultant overviewed the new
CM Product Portfolio and talked through the upgrades of the products released
in the last few weeks and the proposals for further enhancements.

the worldwide organisation.

Q&A Wrap Up. At the panel session there were two questions outstanding were:-
Q. SSL for z/OS.
A. From Fixpak 7 the Resource Manager of Content
Manager V8.2 on z/OS now supports SSL. For details on how to configure SSL in
the HTTPServer see the manual: z/OS HTTP Server Planning, Installing, and Using

Q. DB2 On-line Backups.
A. The DB2 documentation should be used to
determine how to perform DB2 on-line backups. If you are having problems with
this then please contact your DB2 support team in IBM.
