Abstract:

Pete Stevenson: Pete has been in IT since 1980, mostly in storage management. Starting out as a trainee on the mainframe, working his way through to becoming a senior technician then manager at JPMorgan Chase. He was heavily involved in their first deployment of SAN technology, as well as establishing enhanced disaster recovery processing using synchronous replication between two datacentres. Pete was chairman of the GSE Storage management working group through much of the 1990's. In 2005 he moved roles to become staff development manager at JPMC where he first identified the need for a certification program for mainframe technicians. This resulted in him being one of the initial architects of what has become the BCS MTP(tm), and establishing and chairing the GSE Training and Certification working group.
