Many customers are facing the prospects of having to reduce the cost of running mainframe systems. Very often, particular workloads that are reported to be expensive are those associated with the 'language of SAS'. Such workloads are candidates for executing with a new compiler / interpreter called WPS that is now installed in many companies worldwide. Many companies are reporting significant cost reductions in using WPS.WPS runs programs written in the language of SAS without the need for products from other vendors other than IBM and WP (World programming) - the firm that has written the WPS product. In this presentation you will hear why WPS can reduce costs and why it can technically replace comparable products.
After completing his Degree in Engineering, Sam started his career in IT during the early 1990's as a software engineer in the oil and gas industry in Scotland. He then spent a number of very pleasing years as a manufacturing engineer with a strong interest in software control for robotic systems. Sam left manufacturing to become a software technical sales manager focusing on the London Insurance market. Sam went to City University to complete an MBA and after graduating he started a software firm concentrating on management information systems. Outside work, Sam does work for a 'not for profit organistion' that assists under-privileged disabled children.
