Abstract:

"Where's my trade?"

"When will my claim be paid out?!"

"Why don't you call me when there's a delay?"

Life would be so easy if our key business processes were owned and controlled by a single, all-knowing computer system.

Sadly, life isn't that simple. Responsibility for executing critical business processes is typically spread between multiple systems - and multiple people, meaning there is no one place where a business manager can turn to for timely, accurate, actionable information.

Business Activity Monitoring helps solve this problem by aggregating information, in real-time, from disparate business systems to create dashboards and alerts that allow business users to gain visibility into their running business processes.

In this presentation, we will introduce the technology and give examples of how existing solutions running on WebSphere Message Broker and CICS can be monitored.

Richard is a WebSphere Technical Sales specialist for IBM UK, focussing on clients in the Financial Markets sector. Since joining IBM Hursley from university eight years ago, he has held a number of technical roles in the messaging and integration space. These include stress testing the WebSphere Message Broker, delivering competitive Proofs of Concept around the world and advising clients in Europe on the design and implementation of WebSphere-based solutions. He focusses primarily on Business Process Management.
