Session Speaker: Geoff Rousell (IBM)Session Chairman:When: Tuesday 28th October @ 10:45Where: Othello |

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is one of a long line of recent compliance regimes that directly affect the way that IT operations are run and the security environments required.
Now retailers, banks, and any company that processes or handles credit cards are subject to audits and inspections by certified PCI assessors - and the penalties are seemingly extremely high. This session will review what PCI is and what is expected to meet its standards. Then the speaker will discuss how System z and z/OS can be used to address some of the PCI requirements and demands.
Geoff is a Senior IT Specialist in the IBM Software Group focussing on System z software. Geoff joined IBM in 1984, and has worked in a wide variety of positions most of them inextricably linked with IBM's mainframe platform, and security in particular. These roles have included software defect support, product test, product introduction management, technical pre-sales and technical account management.
