Gareth Jones has been an IT professional for almost a quarter of a century, with a background in Systems Programming and Database Administration. This year marks a special occasion as he is 21 (in DB2 terms). Until 2000 Gareth worked as an IBM customer, both as a permanent employee and as a contractor, then joined IBM full time in 2000, working in Server Operations (outsourcing). In 2003 he joined BetaWorks, managing Beta programs for DB2 and DB2 Tools, and in 2007 joined the DB2 SWAT Team, under the guidance of John Campbell, and now reports to the DB2 Development laboratory in Silicon Valley.
