Abstract:

We spin a lot of cycles collecting them, but do we make the best of them and are we collecting the right ones? In this session we'll take a look at Real Time Statistics, implementing an informed rebind strategy, identifying and handling column correlation and explain DB2 9's Histogram statistics amongst other things.

Andy has been working in the mainframe arena for the past 20 years. During the last 15 of which he has specialised on DB2, working as both a DBA for a large insurance company in the UK and with a number of DB2 tools vendors including; Platinum Technology, BMC and most recently CA. He works with DB2 on a daily basis ensuring CA's customers are gaining the maximum benefit from the CA DB2 solutions in their environments, concentrating specifically on; performance, administration and backup and recovery.
