Abstract:

The IMS Working Group hopes you will enjoy this year's GSE UK Conference. We welcome you to the IMS stream and hope you will find the sessions interesting, informative and useful.

This session incorporates the regular IBM "What's New", bringing you information about recent product announcements, forthcoming events and new and updated publications, websites and presentations from the world of IMS, as well as the latest news from various independent software vendors on their IMS-related products.

This is also the time to present your own news if there's anything that may be of interest to the other delegates, such as:

You can also register for the IMS Mastery Certification tests. If anyone registers to take one or more papers then the tests will be held from 19:00.

Neil Price first encountered IBM mainframes as a student in 1971 and started working with them full-time in 1975. He has been involved with IMS almost continuously since 1977.

He has been with TNT Express at their worldwide data centre in Warwickshire since 1994. As both DBA and Systems Programmer he now supports IMS DBCTL, DB2, WebSphere MQ and WebSphere Message Broker on the mainframe, and until recently was also responsible as Team Leader for the Enterprise Data Warehouse based on Teradata and Cognos.

Neil has been Chairman of the GSE UK IMS Working Group committee since 2002, having successfully avoided it as a committee member for several years previously.
