The GSE Requirements Procedure
|
A short step by step description of a Requirement's route from its author to IBM.
- 1. Currently, the originating author sends the Requirement in text-based form to
the working group that it belongs to. A change has been requested that should mean that
any working group member may raise a new requirement through the Internet-based GSE
Requirements System. This facility should be available in the near future
- 2. The working group Requirements Manager / Secretary uses the Internet-based GSE Requirements System to register the new
requirement. This system also allows for the Requirement to be printed off for
distribution.
- 3. At the next working group meeting or by post the working group will discuss
and vote for the Requirement and thus give it a priority.
- 4. The Requirement Manager updates the Requirement on the GSE Requirements
System, to include any changes that have been requested by the Working Group discussion,
and the priority set by voting on the Requirement. He or she then changes the status of
the Requirement such that it is automatically submitted to IBM. These submissions occur
automatically every week, on Sundays. Requirements submitted are then entered into the IBM
Requirements database. IBM responses will be loaded back to the GSE UK Requirements System
on the same weekly cycle. IBM will ensure that the working group receives a response
within a maximum of three months.
- 5. The response will be presented at the next working group meeting.
