Abstract:

Mainframe applications face continual challenges to evolve - adding new functionality, adopting SOA / web services and integrating with distributed platforms. All are based on a complete understanding of the application structure and component inter-relationships including interaction with database / middleware environments - a task that grows ever more challenging as 'expert level' knowledge often decreases while complexity continues to increase.

The session will describe how automated application analysis has been used successfully in large UK organisations to improve a range of application management activities within COBOL, PL/1, ADS/O, Assembler, CICS, DB2, MQ and Endevor environments.

Simon is VP Operations at EZ Legacy responsible for customer and partner based activities. Prior to joining EZ Legacy, he was the VP EMEA for Digital Fuel, a provider of ITIL based SLA Management applications for managing Service Delivery and VP EMEA for ETI, an early pioneer in the ETL market. Previously he held various sales management positions at Sapiens, Ingres and Wang.
