RealTime Defrag (RTD) is an automated DASD management tool for the z/OS environment. This presentation will briefly describe the functions of RTD and show how RTD benefits the data centre in the areas of

The session will be culminated by a UK RTD user presentation depicting how RTD has been implemented in his data centre and the benefits they have received from RTD.

Howard Kirby received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles where he was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. His Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems was received from Boston University. Mr. Kirby has over 40 years' systems programming experience with IBM operating systems of which the last 20 have been in the area of Storage Management. He is currently Director, International Operations for INTERCHIP AG with its International Headquarters in Munich, Germany.
