Abstract:

This session provides an overview of the different IBM mainframe software licensing models for the System z Enterprise Class series. One model does not provide the most satisfactory solution to everyone's software licensing requirements. This session explains the different IBM pricing models and how to determine which pricing model is best for your organization

John joined IBM Canada in 1976 as a Systems Engineer. He has held various positions in technical sales support, software product development, hardware sales and marketing with IBM in both the USA and Canada. He is currently part of the worldwide "Topgun" IBM software sales education team. Prior to this he consulted with IBM clients throughout the world on mainframe software asset management issues. He developed and taught the "Managing Mainframe Software Costs" class to over 500 clients. John has been the keynote speaker in the Software Asset Management track at SHARE and has spoken at many industry conferences in North America, Europe and Australia. He is a frequent speaker at IBM mainframe briefings for clients and internal training classes. He holds a B.A.Sc degree in Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
