Abstract:

To help address declining mainframe skills, CA is introducing Mainframe 2.0, an initiative to change the way the mainframe is managed forever. Mainframe 2.0 will result in changes across CA's entire z/OS product line, starting with simplifying the customer experience for managing CA z/OS software. In this session, the speaker will provide an overview of Mainframe 2.0, explain why CA has embarked on this initiative, and will cover details about the new, browser based, CA Mainframe Software Manager and other efforts that are under the Mainframe 2.0 umbrella.

Norman has been with CA since January 2004. He is currently the Director of Product Management for Mainframe 2.0. He is also an internationally recognized System z, z/Operating and z/Performance Specialist. He has spent many years in enterprise-wide performance and capacity planning for a large Utility Company, a large Financial Corporation, and a large Telecommunications Corporation. In addition to the performance and capacity planning responsibilities, Norman has been a Systems Programmer Manager, and a Project Manager for high-profile Data Center Projects.Norman has been a member, a panelist, and a referee of the Computer Measurement Group (CMG); the EWCP Project Manager, and speaker for SHARE; a speaker for Guide/Share Europe, a presenter at IBM EXPO; a presenter at CAWorld; a contributor to Cheryl Watson's Tuning Newsletter, and one of the Technical Editors for Steve Samson's "MVS Performance Management."
