EC: Architecting Solutions for Performance on Distributed WebSphere MQ

Abstract:

Websphere MQ provides various Quality of Service(QoS) and they directly map to real resource consumption. The Architect understands the relative costs of the potential components in a solution. These components are combined together to create a solution to the business problem that has acceptable resource consumption. This presentation reviews various application models and some QoS available to the application so the system can be appropriately balanced between function and performance.

Peter Toghill is the Performance Architect within the WMQ Development team at Hursley. He joined the IBM UK Laboratory at Hursley in 1974 specialising on Performance and has worked on MQSeries in various technical roles since its inception in 1991.
