Abstract:

Protecting Your Optical Network

As organisations react to external threats and new legal requirements to protect optical networks, the demand to protect high-speed backbone networks using encryption is growing. At the forefront of this trend is InfoGuard, Switzerland's leading manufacturer of high-performance encryption solutions for the protection of corporate and municipal high-speed networks. InfoGuard are part of 'The Crypto Group', one of Europe's most renowned security specialists with more than 300 employees, providing encryption devices in over 130 countries to enterprises, governments and, the military since 1952.

InfoGuard provide a range of encryption appliances for Point-to-Point and the new Multipoint networks topologies defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF 6/10), supporting speeds from 10Mbps to 10Gbps. The most advanced InfoGuard Multilink product uses AES 256 and can simultaneously encrypt data from ten different signals supporting common interfaces such as Fibre Channel, FICON and Ethernet via CWDM/ DWDM, Dark Fibre or SDH networks, with a extremely low latency.

By attending this session you will learn about the numerous data breaches caused through tapping of optical transmission lines together with regulatory requirements and the myths and truths surrounding the security of optical high speed networks. Using state of the art encryption technology InfoGuard will show how the most important asset of any enterprise 'its data' can be seamlessly protected using layer 2 network encryption. www.infoguard.com .
