Abstract:

Digital Certificates is aimed at an introductory level, explaining what digital certificates are, and how to generate them. It will include how certificates are generated using the RACDCERT command, some examination of what a certificate really is, and what happens when a certificate is used in a client server SSL connection.

Nigel comes from a mechanical engineering background, and first started working with RACF in 1995. Most of his direct experience comes from working with National Australia Group, whose subsidiaries include Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank. Prior to moving into a security role and working with RACF, Nigel held roles, both as a Research Analyst, and in PC Technical Support, which explains his continuing affinity for PC tools. Nigel has been active in the RACF community, including publishing an article in Xephon's RACF Update, and regular contributions to racf-l. In addition there have been several articles in Xephon's RACF Update, which have been written about his PC utilities, which are freely distributed from www.racf.co.uk
