Abstract:

This session builds on the basic concepts introduced in the session "CICS(r) and Events: Concepts and Event Specifications," to demonstrate how you can gain business insight and value from this new capability. Learn how the power of IBM WebSphere(r) Business Events to detect patterns in events can be used with events arising from processing in CICS Transaction Server to allow you to derive useful business information and actions. It will also cover integration with WebSphere Business Monitor, and use of events from CICS to populate business dashboards and raise alerts. Events from CICS applications can also be consumed within CICS itself. A spectrum of scenarios will be discussed to show how events from CICS can provide business understanding, the ability to monitor risk and business compliance, and responsiveness to business opportunities and change. The session covers scenarios in detail to show you how you will be able to derive benefit from CICS events.

Anthony joined as a graduate hire in 2007 working at IBM Hursley UK. Over the two years he has been with IBM he has worked on many areas of CICS including Atom Feed Support and Event Processing, two of 4.1's headline features. Anthony currently works in CICS development carrying out design work for Event Processing.
