Abstract:

The session will contain an presentation update of the new Version's of CICS Transaction Server 4,1, CICS Performance Analyzer 3.1, CICS Interdependency Analyzer 3.1 and CICS Configuration Manager 2.1 followed by a live demonstration showing how easy it is to generate a Business Event from CICS TS Version 4.1 using CICS Explorer ( free offering ) tool as well as how the latest CICS Interdependency Analyzer can assist in the process via Command Flow functionality and place a Business Event in WebSphere Business Event format on a MQ Queue without changing a single line of CICS application code.

Paul Carruthers has worked in System z CICS Technical Support teams at various companies ( not just IBM ) since 1990. gaining a large amount of experience in installing, customizing and rolling out base CICS and associated software tooling. He joined IBM in Jan 1998, working in their Outsourcing division and in Sept 2002 moved into their Software Group.

Prior to joining IBM, he has also worked for Freemans Mail Order ( in Headingley ), Co-operative Wholesale Society and ICI C+FC ( in Manchester ).

While in IBM Outsourcing, he worked on accounts such as Asda, Bradford & Bingley, Equifax and Certegy.

His current role within IBM Software Group involves working with the CICS development lab in Hursley to develop and enhance the IBM CICS tool suite. He also works with customers to assist them at a technical level in migrating to the appropriate IBM CICS tool, He is a member of an IBM Global WebSphere "Tiger" Team for CICS Transaction Server & CICS Tooling and recently was given ownership of WebSphere Business Events for z/OS.

Based in Leeds , He travels widely giving technical presentations, demonstrations & proof of concepts.
