AB: CICS Web Services Security and Atomic Transaction Support

Abstract:

With the open nature of Web Services comes the need to provide secure and coordinated information exchanges. Through collaboration of industry leading technology companies, the WS-Security and WS-Coordination standards have been introduced. These extensible standards allow new and existing security and communication technologies to interoperate between disparate system to guarantee the integrity and security of data. This presentation gives an overview of several new technologies for Web Services, and a detailed look at security and transactions using the Web Services standards in CICS TS V3.1.

I joined IBM in 1997 straight from university. For my entire 10 years in IBM I have been part of the CICS level 3 service team. The areas of CICS I primarily focus on are; CICS Web Services, Web Support, 3270 Web Bridge, Sockets, Java and EJBs. I was part of the team that wrote the redbook "Architecting Access to CICS within an SOA" and its predecessor "Architecting Web Access to CICS".
